I have an old NEC NEAX 2000 IVS PBX and trying to figure out how 2 phones on different LIN's can share the same extension as their main line. Any help please. Thanks.
Thanks for the reply. So the only option is to add the desired extension as a seperate line on the same LIN? I have MAT v1.05 to configure PBX. I'm guessing this would need to be configured with that?
Never heard the term LIN, do you mean LEN? If so you can only have one number to a LEN.
If the phones are digital then you can assign one phone with the number you want and then assign another with a dummy extension number and then put a line appearance on it of the number you had on the other. You can put this on the key that normally has the main extension number on it and then you can also make it the prime line on both phones.
None of this is possible with an analogue extension. However you can create the first phone as an analogue then put it on the Dterm as the prime line (again you would have to create the Dterm with a dummy number). I have in the past done this where they wanted a cordless linked to a Dterm.
In both of the above you need to document this well as it can be confusing to anyone that comes along later trying to find the Dterm in programming!
Obviously if it is two analogues you can just give a paralell connection!
All of the programming can be done from a Dterm but if you have mat software and the lead to connect to the system then it will probably be easier to do it that way.
