Have a slight situation at the moment. Have just put a server onto our network.
It was origanally disigned for a different purpose and thus alocated as a PDC. Only thing is now management has changed their mind on the situation and have been asked to put the new server onto the network as a PDC which it already is to replace the other server which is set to PDC.
Looking in server manager both boxes will see all the workstations with no problem but will not acknoledge each other at all. Infact if you try to ping one server from the other it will say that the address is un reachable even though I know that physically the network is connected and the IP addresses have been set be in the same address scheme of things.
Anyone have any ideas??
Am looking into changing server (WOLF) into BDC without having to re instal NT all over again..

PDCs have unique SIDs which define a domain. Even if these two boxes have the same domain name, they have different sids and define different domains. You have to reinstall the box. Install it as a BDC and promote it to PDCs if wanted after it is successfully a BDC.

There is a 3rd party utility which might work for you. Not recommended but if you want to give it a try. See

"Move Windows NT servers to another domain or change from member to domain controller "
