I have a very strange problem that I haven't been able to nail down. It seems that my ADP application somehow is spawning an additional msaccess.exe process that stays active even when the main application is closed. This second process is left running and consume up to 99% of the processor. Anybody heard of this before?

Any chance you played with OLE Automation ?
Something like CreateObject or GetObject or New Access.Application ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

I checked my code and I'm not using anything like that. It's also appearing on more than one PC. And, to top it off, it appears irregularly.

Actually, I have new info. It appears that I don't have two processes running. Rather, Access closes, but the process never stops and is begged at 95% cpu usage.

(is there anyway to change the thread title?)

Check that in your code ALL instantiated, open Recordsets are ALWAYS closed and set to Nothing (ie released).
