Our company has one network running NetBackup (Site-license) to an ATL 4/52 robotics tape library with three DLT7000 drives, using two scsi adapters and cables. I'm thinking of connecting a second network to the robotics using another scsi adapter and cable. There are three additional scsi ports on the robotics available to do this. These networks are totally separated. I wanted to know if I installed NetBackup on the second network with it's own Master Server, can I manage the robotics from both Master Servers, if there are any issues I'm overlooking that will prevent such a scenario? Does this sound feasible? Haven't really begun to think about whether I'd have separate classes, pools, etc., wanted to know if I'm dreaming here. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I believe you are looking at some sticky problems to resolve with that approach.[neutral]
I have worked with a couple of different vendors' libraries, and they have a consistent behaviour pattern:
they are designed to only be controlled by one host.
There are even issues with some libraries if you try issuing commands through a keypad and/or web interface while the Veritas software is trying to perform a robotic operation such as mount, unmount, etc.
Having 2 NetBackup masters trying to control the same robot is much more complicated than having the right cabling; you should seriously consider what would happen if they both wanted to send a command at the same time, especially since you indicated that they are on different networks and could not "negotiate" with each other.[nosmiley]
Here's an alternative suggestion that might not cost you a fortune.. the servers sound like they are in relatively close proximity in physical terms, so why not add an extra NIC to each box, put them on a switch or hub that goes nowhere except to your Veritas boxes, and run your new box as a media server instead of an additional master? The media server could talk to all of its clients over the existing network, but keep robotic commands, catalog info and scheduling etc. in sync with the master over this lan.
If the servers were configured correctly, you would be able to avoid this being used as a bridge between the 2 networks.
