I am trying to set up two internal networks on an IBM 43P-150 using the intergrated ethernet port and an additional ethernet adapter. I am doing this for a small office network and access by the server in this office to an IT server on a different ip address, serving the data over Hummingbird Maestro.
Although I can communicate over both networks to each office client and with the IT server, I cannot get the remote IT server drive to mount onto the RS.

Any ideas please?

which error do you get? Is the IP adress of the remote server in the hostfile of your AIX? Is the nfs daemon running on your AIX?

Hi RMGBELGIUM

Thanks for your prompt reply, although I have been a bit slow in replying to you.
All of the necessary info is present and correct on the RS, including the hosts file. The NFS daemons are also running. I had suspected that the Windows server using Maestro was the culprit in that it was not serving the data correctly.
For example, when I tried to mount from the same place with a slightly different folder name I got a different message suggesting that the folder name did not exist on the server. This confirmed to me that my mount command was reaching the server but there was an issue originally with access into the server for this folder.
Original message was something like: server not responding in the time out period.
Anyway, the issue has been resolved now because the data has been moved to a different server again served using Maestro and exported correctly and I can now see the remote data mounted onto the RS6000.
Thanks
