I have 6416D+M phones. We are training new call center agents. Using the HIC-1 cable to a Plantronics Y adapter and two H51 heasets. One party can hear and speak and the other can only hear, but needs to be able to speak. Wonder if the Plantronics Y adapter is designed to work this way?

Richard: I have the very same and the way it's working is what the instructions state. My attendant uses it frrst the trainee just listens for a few days the the trainee swaps and does the takling.

Hope this helps

I checked with Plantronics (tried the web site then gave up and called) and the CS person said the only Y adapter they make has a mute switch on it. Yet my y adapter has no mute switch... how could this be? I guess I'll have to buy the one with the official mute to switch so both parties can talk. I recommended the trainer just make each call a conference call. That did not go over very well.

Plantronics "Y" cable, Part number 27019-XX has a switch on it that will switch between the Trainer or the Trainee, but both cannot talk at the same time. I buy these cables, but I had to ask our call center supervisor how they worked.
Hope this helped.
