Hello everyone,

Currenlty, we have ONE domain w/ 2 DCs (2003 AD). All FSMO roles on DC1. Thus, my Global Catalog is on this server too...

Question:
Is it OK to have two Global Catalogs? I know that you shouldn't put your Infrastructure Master on a GC (if you only have one- like I do)... So, I'm thinking I need to make both of my DCs a GC, right?

Any Advice is truly appreciated!!

Brandon

Yes it's OK to have more than one GC, and in most cases desirable for redundancy/failover purposes. When you only have one domain the Infrastructure Master/GC issue doesn't matter.

There are some guidelines as to when NOT to put a GC on a DC, such as the server holding the IM role (unless absolutely needed).
