Hi,
We have a fairly small network, roughly 60 users doing development work, two Win2k SP3 servers both active directory DC's, one newer than the original, its the new one that recently started the kaniption fits.
Replication between the two used to be instantaneous, create a account, and voila, you see it on the other server, until a couple weeks ago, when we had a power outage over the weekend and UPS failed to kick in ontime.
Now the one domain controller won't talk to the other, and accounts created on one, never show up on the other, the only thing that does appear to show up right is new pc's added to the domain.
Our users created post power outage basically have to keep rebooting their workstation hoping to hit the domain controller that has their account, otherwise no dice.
How do i correct the replication between these two servers and get them to trust eachother? Thanx In Advance for any help

Check your File Replication System (FRS) Logs. It should tell you what is wrong.

Is your SYSVOL \ NETLOGON mounted on both server? (you will see this in your log).

Also, try running DCDIAG.EXE and see if it comes up with any errors. Maybe post a copy and then we can see from there.

W2K has a lot of "Gotcha" points... Active Directory, Global Catalog, Infrastructure Master, OOOOPS!

See here for some funny stuff...

Microsoft said:
Unless there is only one domain controller in the domain, the infrastructure master role should not be assigned to the domain controller that is hosting the global catalog. If the infrastructure master and global catalog are on the same domain controller, the infrastructure master will not function. The infrastructure master will never find data that is out of date, so will never replicate any changes to the other domain controllers in the domain.
