Normally I'm pretty good with this stuff, but can't figure it out nor have I bumped into anyone who could sufficiantly answer this question for me. Here's the deal, I need to find out if or what is possible so that I can get this set up. I'm trying to share my DSL with my neighbor across the street. I don't see distance being a problem as I can add and antenna on both ends to extend reach.
Currently, I have my DSL going into my Linksys 11S4. I have one wired and 2 wireless connections that are working great. I've looked everywhere to see if I have to use a WiFi AP or WiFi Router on his end. He will also have 1 wired and 2 wireless clients.
What hardware do I need on his end, and how do I set it up? Can our WiFi routers act as bridges AND serve a wireless signal to the clients at the same time?? Much appreciated for any ideas/answers!!!

No, they cannot act as bridges.

You could try shooting from your place to a WET11 on his end.

If you are on the same side of the Transformer on the street, I would use powerline adapters. I recently bought two Siemens powerline ethernet bridge adapters for $90 after rebates, and used this to do something exactly like what your are suggesting. See this article for a discussion of the newer powerline adapters:
You would connect to a regular wired LAN port on your side, and your neighbor the same on his side. He would use the web configuration of the router to disable DHCP and to select "Router" instead of "Gateway" on his device. And you are done.

Well I would also suggest the same device the WET11, but better change the antenna on both the WET11 and BEFW11S4 to a high gain antenna. But doing so, you would void the warranty covered by Linksys. Still you would have a better reception specially if you're running across the street.

A wet11 is also known as a wireless bridge. If you're neighbor is gonna have wireless PCs on it, then this wet11 should be hooked up to another wireless device, let's say a BEFW11S4. Now, you could do two things with the W11S4. You could keep the working mode of the W11S4 as "gateway" and connect the wet11 to the WAN(Internet) port of the W11S4. You just have to change the LAN(Device) IP of your neighbor's W11S4 to 10.10.10.1. In this setup, your neighbor would have internet access but won't be able to see your network.

Now, if you want your neighbor to see your network, (computers w/in), you have to connect your wet11 to the uplink (or regular port) of the W11S4, change the LAN(Device) IP of the router to 192.168.1.2 (assuming YOUR router is 192.168.1.1) and set the working mode to "router". This would make your neighbor's router to act like a plain wireless AP. This setup would also enable you or your neighbor to view each others network.

btw, make sure you use a high gain directional antenna

peace and i'm out

Thanks a ton guys... had already had my eyes set on a few directional antennas.
