I have a customer who has twinning working for their other phones but for this one user, the twinning wont work for external calls... only for internal. Trace excerpt below.

I have tried changing the number to twin to...

I have tried deleting the user and the extension and recreating them...

He is one of two Power user licenses. But we have 6 users set up for mobile twinning.

Is the user logged into a phone?
If not you need to have twinned when logged out checked..

Is it the correct number as it gives busy on that number:
IE CMIEDeviceDetail (231) LOCALE=enu HW=11 VER=8 class=CMDeviceSIPTrunk type=0 number=9 channel=2 rx_gain=32 tx_gain=32 ep_callid=8407 ipaddr=172.16.200.20 apps=0 loc=0 em_loc=0
Cause=17, User busy

I guess you read the manual wrong on the "Mobile answer guard" so leave it deault on 0 That is why you get a Cause=17
So if you pick up the call before the "Mobile answer guard" the avaya thinks it's the Mobile Voicemail.

Mobile Answer Guard: Default = 0 (Off). Range = 0 to 99 seconds.
This control can be used in situations where calls sent to the twinned destination are automatically answered by a voicemail service or automatic message if the twinned device is not available. If a twinned call is answered before the Mobile Answer Guard expires, the system will drop the call to the twin.

Cause No. 17 - user busy.
This cause is used to indicate that the called party is unable to accept another call because the user busy condition has been encountered. This cause value may be generated by the called user or by the network. In the case of user determined user busy it is noted that the user equipment is compatible with the call.
What is means:
Calling end is busy.

Thanks for the replies.

The mobile answer guard was changed the day of my question to =0. that may not be reflected on the monitor trace, but still had no effect on the success of twinning. The mobile phone still receives calls from internal users calling his extension, but not from external callers. I know that his mobile was idle... he was standing next to me when we were testing.

The customer does have other users who's extensions twin fine with internal calls and external calls. It's just this one extension.

Avaya special probably.
Delete the user and make it new with the same settings.

The number it's dialling doesn't look complete so the SIP provider bins it off, or did you edit that down?
If you recreated the user and extn the only thing in common now is how you configured/reconfigured that user, what shortcodes have you added etc? :)

now the worst question ever: " Did you try turning it off and on again?" meaning hard reboot with power removed not software reboot?
These Avaya boxes are like primadonnas sometimes.

Those are two mobile numbers from Verizon?

9097670069
919518300044

I think the provider does not like you send the CLI of the calling party to the mobile.
Manager > System > Twinning > Unitck Send Original..........

amriddle01: I tried recreating the user and had no success... Deleted the user and copied a user who's twinning was working and edited that user for name, ext, SIP name etc...

Westi: this is a server edition system using a cybertron rack mounted server.

Bas1234: I called and left a message with the user to find out the provider. the 0069 number is Verizon. Send original calling party info is checked but working for other users, but I also asked the user what the other users cell provider might be...
