My boss has two phones twinned together so they both ring at the same time. The main phone is a 5224 (x701) and the second is a portable analog phone (x724). The problem I am having is that when he is on the main phone the PKM says he is on the phone but when the operator sends the call through to go to voicemail it rings the portable phone as well but eventually goes to voicemail. The other problem is that when my boss uses the portable phone the operator cannot see that he is on the phone because 701 is not lit on the pkm. Is there something I can do to fix this or is this how it is suppose to work?

Not sure how to change the first problem as I have never done the Twin Phone thing.

As for the PKM and the DSS/BLF, I would suggest two things. Either have the boss use the x701 button on the portable set when making a call or put a DSS/BLF button for x724 below/beside/above the PKM button for x701. That way the operator can see if he is on either phone.

Good luck.

My Biggest problem is that I almost always believe what I tell myself.

it is an industry standard portable phone how do i "have the boss use the x701 button on the portable set when making a call"? I thought about making another button on the pkm but we are short of buttons and it seems like a waste if they are twinned.

The twining is working fine and the first problem is a result of the twining working.
What if you got rid of the twining and put an appearance of 724 on to 701 and if you want to call and have both ring call 701. If you wanted the second call to 701 ring on 724 if 701 was on the phone you could make it multi call on the 5224 set.

if i made a multicall button on the 5224 for 724 would that ring the 724 if the 701 rings?

I messed up the numbers, you would call the analogue number 724 always and that number 724 would show up as multi call on 701. Sorry for the confusion.
