Tweening Text

I have created a movie clip in which i want to simply move some text. I converted the text to a graphic symbol and used a simple motion tween to move it accross the screen.
This works fine, in the movie clip itself.
However, when i nest the movie clip into the _root it doesn't tween - it just sits there laughing at me !!!

I must be missing somethine ever so simple - any ideas to save my sanity ???

no actions at all.
the mc is simply the tween

thanx oldnewbie, but i have crackedit now.
I had a gotoandstop i had missed that was simply stoping the movie too soon
