I am setting up a Panasonic system for the first time. Not knowing much about PBX I have been going through the manuals methodicaly. I set the VM port through menu 117 to Ext. 7. After setting my VPS dip switches to the 5 position. I connected HyperTerm and let it go. It starts to auto configure and then tells me that there is no VM port from my pbx hooked up or programmed properly. Is there a step that I'm missing? Any help would be great.

Thanks,

did you do a quick setup and tell the tvs what system it will be connected to?

I thought thats what I was doing, but Im not sure I fully understand the manual. I can hyperterm into the tvs, but Im lacking the knowledge when it comes to sending commands. I have tried a few things from the manual, but nothing will appear in the hyperterm window when I make key strokes. So Im sure I havent done any thing along those lines. If you have any suggestions that would be great.

Hey, I went back and checked all of my settings one more time and sure enough my flow control was set to hardware. I also forced the VT100 emulation on my hyper terminal and every thing started working like a champ. Thanks a heap for the help.
