Hi Guys

I'm an NEC tech that has been tasked with connecting to a Panasonic TVM50. the problem is, with inband signalling all the NEC can do is send the extension number the call was destined for via DTMF tones. when someone dials in to get messages the system won't send any info. The tech I'm working with has never tried to interface with an NEC so my question is, has anyone here done this and can you help with the TVM settings.

Many thanks in advance.

Ozzie

The TVM install manual has 6 pages of parameters that need to be considered when connecting the VM to a non-Pana PBX

Too long to list here. Do your other tech have a copy of the manual

Yes he does but because the NEC system has such a rudimentary in band signalling capability it is quite a challenge. quite literally the only information the system sends is the original destination of the call, be it the VM pilot number or the original destination of a forwarded call! So when a user dials in to retrieve messages it is necessary to get them to dial in their own mailbox number and other things as basic as that!
