I've connected my TV to my PC via the s-video port on my video card. In the display settings in windows XP you can move the 2 screens around to show how they are located in relation to one another but I want both my TV and PC to show exactly the same thing. How would I do this? It's incredible to think that before computers were invented we had to mess things up ourselves!

TV screen SAME as PC monitor

Well you are going to have a problem because the average TV will not display the high resolutions that a monitor can handle, plus I am guessing the screen sizes of your monitor and TV are differant which further complicates the issue of matching the two.
If a TV could display at this high quality we would all be buying cheap TV's instead of monitors to connect to our PC's.
