My system currently runs WinME with a PII 400mhz, 256MB of RAM, Creative Labs P512 souind card, PS/2 mouse, HP recordable CD drive and plenty of HDD space. (I upgraded from 98SE to ME because 98SE doesn't use more thatn 128MB of RAM.) I have a Hauppauge 32bit TV Card and a Creative Labs DVD Encore3(this includes the drive and decoder card). When installed the components, ME did everything correctly and the programs will start. Once the TV program starts it immediately locks-up the system, the keyboard will not even respond. I had this problem with 98SE also but it would randomly work correctly until I moved the mouse. This leads me to think there is a problem in the IRQ settings.(?) The DVD software works correctly but the image is a blue screen with just a hint of the media being played, previously with Win98SE the DVD was perfect. I imagine this is a driver issue. I have checked both Hauppauge and Creative for updated drivers and so far there is nothing on their site.
Any ideas or suggestions. If this can be resolved I will be very greatful.

Thanks,

First, Win98SE can use 512MEgs of rams, I use this many at home, and I hated WinME, I downgraded back to Win98SE and Win2k Pro (I dualBoot) both Operating system can use 512Megs of rams. I also have a Creative Labs Dxr3 DVD Decoder card that came with my CL Encore, it worked in 98, ME, Win2kpro, no probs at all. Be suer to download the latest driver's from creativelabs.com etc, if the only reason you upgraded to WinME was because you "Thought" Win98SE cant do past 128MEgs, I would highly recomending going back to Win98SE and resolving that issue, I dont know about the TV card tho.
