Has anyone with CMS R17 running Redhat been able to get the F keys to work with Tutty? With a Solaris OS, it works fine up to and including R17 but with Redhat it's not working. After using tutty for some many years, its going to be tough to have to go back to the Avaya terminal emulator.

Don't know about CMS but in CM I need to change Function Keys to VT100+ for them to work in putty.

HI

Try following equivalent keys:

F = 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Ctrl+p = 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

1 = Help
2 = Window
3 = Commands
4 = Keep
5 = Exit
6 = Scroll
7 = Current
8 = MainMenu

Thanks. Yea, using the ctrl + p works. Was really hoping I can just get my F keys to work the same whey they do with the solaris boxes.

I did find a partial solution to get F5 to work and the others with the ctrl + p. Its not perfect but I'm still looking...

The Backspace key = Control-? (127)
The Home and End keys =Standard
The Function keys and keypad = ESC(n~

putty will work with CM if you tell CM SAT to use "sunt"

Make your window 80 wide and 25 lines tall and line 25 will show function key labels.
terminal and window attributes like backspace using control H and 2000 lines of scroll
wide / tall window size, colors, etc.

Works the same way for solaris xwindows used to access CM SAT.

From description, You are using tutty and you can actually change the key board settings to make F keys work.

Try Function key and keypad setting in Tutty as
>Sun Xterm

Let us know the outcome.
