I have being using photoshop for about 12mths now and use it just about everyday. Iam totally hooked, I think it is the greatest. Iam still very much a novice in it's full funtionality but each day I learn more and more. I have a couple of basic books (manuals really) Look and Learn Photoshop 6 and Teach yourself PS in 24 hrs both are great books. Also, I search the net constantly for tutorials, tips etc. which has been very helpful.

But in my search I havent found my goal of what I seek.

My Question: It is my desire (dream) to be able to create graphics like the Adobe team do (like the splash screen on start up of Photoshop 6 the graphic and other such graphics) Just to know the technique.

How do they do it. I have seen similar techniques but no-one seems to want to share it.

Is it a trade secret? Is it only available from the masters and their classes?

Is it done just in photoshop? Do I need another program?

Iam very excited about computer graphics and I want to expand and grow in this area but I think I need some advice.

I hope this post isnt to big and is clear enough. I will be gratefull for any advice.

Just keep practicing and finding as many new tutorial sites etc. that you can. Then combine the techniques that you like best while developing your own style. Check out photoshopcafe.com for a friendly and helpful forum and check out eyeballdesign.com for some excellent tips and tuts. Both sites have some excellent links as well.

Yeah, that's the best way forward. Use your imagination, scan some pic's from magazines, grab images from the web. Put them together and just play play play, that's how you get there and when you get to that technique that you just can't work out how to do, look through your favourite PS tutorials, do more searches or come here. I know what you mean about the PS splash screen, those guy's always hit the spot with their art and designs - just keep going, you seem to have the right attitude to eventually get there but I bet your closer to being there than you think.

Remember, the biggest critique of your work will always be you! I know I am of mine.......
