If file sharing is already set up in the network properties, is it possible to toggle various resources on/off using visual basic?

Example: I have a few computers on a network and have installed file sharing on all of them. I now wish to be able to have a VB routine turn on the sharing for the C: drive or CD-ROM drive so all can use it and then later be able to turn it back off to safeguard the information. I wish to do this remotely and turn on/off just the resources that will be needed.

Thanks,

Be careful if your computers have access to the internet, especially an "always on" connection. There are ways through NetBios for others to get at your data. Visit to check your system and get a personal firewall like ZoneAlarm at (Free for personal use and works great). My ZoneAlarm log has shown many attempts by others at various time to access my data through NetBios through my internet connection while I was on, and it is only dial-up.
