Is there anyway to turn off the touch tones after a call is established so that the person placing the call doesn't hear all the tones when entering info on the keypad? This is a Nortel Option 11C with 2616 display phone. The user still needs to use the keypad after placing a call but doesn't want to hear all the noise when entering account data, credit cards numbers and so forth.
Appreciate any insight.

I know it works on 39xx phones but not sure about 2616.
LD 15, CHG, FTR, FIND EEST AND SET IT TO NO. They will still hear a low beep but not DTMF.

I like to hear the tones so I know that I hit the right key.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Talk about anal. What does the user do from home? Set the handset on the desk and you won't have to hear it. Or get ear plugs.
