Turning off remote access via *10

We have a super-sensitive customer regarding security and they have asked us, of all things, to disable any remote access to their telephone equipment. They have a Merlin Legend, not sure of the release. Is there any way to disable the ability for someone to transfer a call to *10? I told them to just change the admin password, but they would prefer that remote access just be disabled.

I don't believe there is. You can add a barrier code to effectively disable remote access. That way you have two codes to enter before you can gain remote access.
 
Won't stop an uninformed user from transferring a caller to *10. Change the password, and document it somewhere safe.
 
Barrier codes only come into play when there is DISA for the remote dial in.
 
True that ttech, but you can change the system password and inform the Operator and other key people about such requests. This reminds me a lot of the early '80s when toll fraud first reared it's head. There was a great deal of talk about disallowed lists on Definity and bringing people up to speed about not transferring callers to x900 and such junk. And though I'm new to this business (about 22 years or so), I'd guess that Avaya is the best at the basics of toll fraud and other such things. I don't know if that helps a paranoid customer or not, but I'd say that my suggestion--and the ones offered previously--are the best you can get.

I have, for a similar request, I used a trick to create a Password so difficult that I didn't even want to commit it to memory. The trick was, come up with a word, put it on a scrap of paper, TURN IT UPSIDE DOWN, then spell what you see with Numbers and Letters (Plus a few dots and semicolons and the like) then put that on the scrap of paper. (Scratch out the original)

The one I created was so bizarre and off the wall that I couldn't memorize it, once I did the above steps.

Next, change the password to the weird one you created, and then DESTROY THE SCRAP OF PAPER.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it......
