Is there any way in Dreamweaver to get the keyboard out of "Insert Mode"? i.e. to get the insert key to toggle between "overwrite" mode and "insert mode" the way it does everywhere else.

strange question, why though???

Known is handfull, Unknown is worldfull

Not really strange. I use the keyboard to position the cursor where I want to make changes and then enter them. It is very annoying to have to do separate deletes of the old characters. "Overwriting" is a basic function available in standard PC editors (e.g. Kedit)and wordprocessors (e.g. Wordperfect, Word).

Having to use a mouse or equivalent to highlight every change and then type it in is a lot of extra effort.

Thanks Cheech for confirming what I thought was the case.

Shift+Arrow Up
would do the trick,no?

??? what you on Lebisol "Shift+Arrow Up" will just select everything from the point of cursor to a point directly above the cursor, or am I confused?

well, just as a general selection of code....but I really dont see direction of this question.
"overwrite"?
...perhps you can toggle the auto-code-compleation after the whole tag is selected....but I still belive you must select it manually
:-(
All the best!
