I'm not sure if the following is possible, my knowlege of Meridians is still limited but here goes.

In our organisation we have extensions from a PABX belonging to another organisation. We would like to take one of those extensions and physically rewire it into the MDF associated with our PABX.

The idea being that our representative working in the other organisation can dial an extension number, receive dial tone from our PABX and then dial out as they normally would if they were working on our premises.

If this is possible, can someone direct me (or even show me) to the programming information required.

Thanks

Matt
I think you may want to consider DISA,, but BEWARE this is a great way for hackers to get into your switch....

DISA.......UGH...I would listen to Colin...I don't think Nortel would recommend using DISA...to risky..

Try the MCK Extender Units

Remote - Model Number E-100U-RNM
Switch - Model Number E-100U-SNM

This way the person can have a phone from your PBX sitting on his desk at the other location. We use it and it works fine. All it takes is an analog port at the far end and an analog and digital port at the switch end.

cost about $1800.00 new, but I bet you could find them used for less than half that.

If that doesn't work, get them a business calling card. Cheaper..less risk.

I have done this years ago when I worked in Hong Kong. you can make it auto terminate to 9 and then the user can dial out just like anyone at your PBX. there are other ways but this is the easest.

Thanks for the info. I gather it is at least possible but the method will be dependant on local circumstances.
