Hi, I got my hands on a preconifugerd MCS Call manager server running 3.2. I have a full version of 3.3.2. I was wondering can a subscriber be turned in to a publisher or will a fresh install be needed.

every time i go to make a change it says publisher not available.

thanks

If I were you, I'd do a fresh install. CCM 3.2 runs SQL 7.0 and CCM 3.3.2 runs SQL 2000. Also be sure to upgrade the new install to at least CCM 3.3.3. CCM 3.3.2 was buggy from what I heard.

Hi

As far as i am aware, you can not convert a subscriber to publisher without reinstalling it. There is only 1 publisher in a cluster and unlike Windows, Subscriber can not be promoted to publisher job.

However, you can re-install it and try to backup Publisher database if resources on both machine is same. You might have to do some work in order to re-attach the SQL Database

You can also export and import data from previous SQL Database.

that's what i thought too. Thanks guys. what you offered inet sounds more complicated than fresh install. i picked up a publisher running 4.1.2 so i'm good now. I just had twins and have had little time to get on the pc to respond.

I am looking to rebuild the cisco mcs 7820 as unity server and have been looking for the software. is this the part number needed. UNITYDVD40=

thanks pndscm. does that stand for pondscum? funny

I took my handle from a Cheers episode where Diane I think was trying to convert some guy into a better person and he asked if she were wearing a certain undergarment. Diane's response to Sam was "The man is pondscum." Thought it was funny, too. Took out the vowels because I used it for my password for a while and don't like to type.
Not sure on the part number for Unity. My box just says UNITY_4.0.
