Hi.

does anyone know if it is possible to turn off the need to login to Reporting Services in SQL 2008?

We have a very small intranet with clients ranging from mac's to real pc's. In SQL 2005 I had managed to enable everyone to get access by proving the webserver (applications) account the ablitiy to browse reports.

However I have not been able to figure out how to do this in 2008.

a. because it doesn't run under IIS and
b. I am not certain as to how I can configure which application pool it uses. (this does't seem to be an option in the RS Config tool (GUI)

Any help here is apreciated.

TIA

Rob

We have a set like that...open to all. We created a generic group in Active Directory. We then created a generic account that was tied to that group in SQL Server. Then we set all those reports to use that account.

It wasn't my first idea, but then again it was my call to open them up like that. If you use a shared connection across all the reports, it will be a simple update to that single connection object rather each individual report.

NOTE: This was implemented in 2005. Should be able to do something very similar in 2008.
