Turn off print messages

Is there a way to turn off the messages that pop up and let you know that a print job was successful for a network printer without turning off all messages? I have a public computer lab where every time they print to the network printer, these messages pop up on an employees computer. She is getting dozens of these messaages. I've thought about turning off either the messenger service or the alerter service, but I want to still be able to send out network messages. Is there a way around this?
