Hi All,

I would like to turn off the outbound transfer capability in the voicemail system of one of our clients.

When I try to change the outbound transfer number of channels to zero, it won't let me (1 is as low as I can go).

I thought of disallowing it in the class of service, but I cannot locate a way to change the cos settings except for VoiceMail Manager, which I do not have set up remotely for them.

Any way I can disable this feature on a systemwide basis??

Thanks.

Short of changing it in the COS, there is no system wide parameter I am aware of.

Any reason why you don't just disable outbound transfer in each users mbox config?

Without a VM Manager (only using remote set in NRU), how can I be sure I hit every box?? I didn't set up the system originally, and I don't know for sure that I will hit every box (without editing every box number from 0001 through 9999!)

Go to CHANGE feature in MBOX admin programming. Then use the DIR to scroll through a list of all mailboxes. Once you roll around to the start you are sure.

You could try to remove the Pool from the system. Then rebuild another pool with that ones access code. Just a thought.

You could change the OUTDIAL setting in each mailbox to NONE.
The only thing with this is that they will not be able to set up message notification to their cell or pager.

Which voicemail do they have? Call Pilot or NAM

If they have a NAM 4.1 then you can change the class of service settings using the phone by: F983 - pswd - MBOX - then press 1.

PhonesBrokeHuh, if you scroll through the boxes using the dir, you only get the boxes that are in the directory.....not necessarily all the boxes.

LowRadiation, they have a NAM. I just tried your suggestion about F983 - pswd - MBOX - then press 1, and when I press 1, the display changes from "mailbox admin" to "info mailbox admin". I didn't see a way to change the cos definitions here.

Isn't there a way to just tell it "no channels for outdialing???" I guess not.

It has to be 4.1 software otherwise you need NVM Manager to edit the COS.
