Ok, I have done the following to turn off the talking ninny.

Go to Control Panel -> Ease of Access -> Ease of Access Center -> Explore all Settings -> Use the computer without a display. Uncheck the checkbox by Turn on Narrator and click Save.

BUT, when the computer starts and it's waiting for you to select the USER that you want to login as, it still talks to you as you're moving your mouse around. So, it's quiet once you get to your desktop, but still yaps BEFORE login.

It does NOT want to shut up and go away. Any way to remove it, kill it, stop it?? It's like the voices in my head.......... make them stop.

turn off

Try this -

"windows key and U ,, it will pop up ease of access .. then click
on where it says use the computer without a display . you can turn off the narroator in there .." (sic).

Goom, before you hit SAVE, use the APPLY button then hit SAVE... "

That's supposed to make a difference??? Wow!?!?

This whole thing defies logic as far as I'm concerned.

When it is sitting at the welcome screen hit the windows key and U and select to shut off the utility manager.

and from this link ( )
Press Windows key + U to bring up the Utilities Manager.
Highlight a listed item and if you do not want it to run, press Stop.
Uncheck each of the "Start automatically..." boxes for that feature. Repeat
for each item

Ok, let me see what works for this person.
