Hello all,
I have a new customer that has a Norstar Compact ICS system & he don't know when it started & said it could have been happening since it was installed. We did not install it & work on Norstar/Nortel little to none.
What's going on is, only their main line 1 after 6 rings an internal modem answers the line.
Definitely know it's in the Norstar box can hear a click right away when hear the modem tones & removed the line from the KSU no modem answers.
Been reading & verified the line pool access, remote page, remote admin, remote monitor for all packages 00-15 set to no & Line 1 Rem pkg is 00.
Is there just a fast easy we to disable this?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks, curlycord for the fast reply,
I will go back onsite to see if it has the IRAD option.
I'm almost positive I didn't see that when there last.
just got the REM access pkgs, click next, REM line access, next & "end of list"
Keep you updated.

Curlycord, went back there yesterday & verified don't have the IRAD option.
Tried different things, still no luck.
Just happened to get the SP code also it's, 30CTE06 NAT
This is at a smaller office & the owner said don't worry about it now, like I said, where he said, it could have been happening the whole time when it got installed by whoever else.
Has me curious though to try to figure out what it is to resolve it.
I told him if I got a for sure resolution I'd come back.
FYI, I'm using 727587 for the password to get in the system, if that matters or helps.

Check if there are any analogue extns connected.
Ring each extn and see if they answer with any tones.
There could be a device connected to one of them..

I know you hear the click from the system but that could be the line connecting .

Thanks for the tip snowman,
That was one of the first things I did try.
Even shut off the ringing on the Exts. not used.

727587"
Yes it matters!!
You need to use "config" (twice).

30CTE06 = CICS 6.1 SIP so you have the following:
S - Standard (means up to 8 lines & 16 phones)
I - IRAD
P - Prompts (built-in small version of AA with CCR)

So use the correct password then: System Programming/Remote Access/IRAD - Press Clear

Even with the IRAD disabled (from SP instead of SIP) the IRAD will answer. The only thing it will let you do though, is add a license code to enable the IRAD.

Hadn't have time to get back on this but tried the "config" 266344 password & won't allow me in programming.
Only way to get in was using the 727587.
Like i said previously, the owner said again forget about it & it was probably doing it since it was installed
He thought whoever installed it was back in 2006[bigsmile]
Thanks for trying & the info to all.
