Is there any way to turn off 1 Hard drive in a two Hard Drive setup with rebooted. I'm running NT 4.0 sp6a. What I'm after is to Hide a second disk from the network. Also does anyone know where to get USB drivers for NT 4.0.

Thanks

I hope this is what you are after.
1- do not share the second HDD.
2- give access privileges only to the local machine users.
3- give access privileges only to specific users.

The above are some of the ways to do what you want.
Assuming that is what you asking for?

Good luck

You could install it in a removable caddy that has a power off switch. Ed Fair

Or go into the BIOS and remove the drive configuration data. Select 'Not installed' in the drive entry. To turn it back on select 'Auto' or go into the HDD detection system and start it.

Another option is to put the second drive on the Secondary IDE channel and turn the entire channel off when not needed.

As for the USB drivers:

shows a driver available on DriverGuide.com. You have to join for free (like here) to access the site.

I did not join so I do not know if the above is correct.

BSquare also sells the USB addition for NT. Your mileage may vary...
