I have a form that I want to disallow filtering and search featurs that automatically show on the bottom of the form (2010). I managed to disable the filter feature but not the search feature. I can still click in the search box.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

I do not know if there is a way to do that without removing the navigation buttons. You could remove the navigation buttons, then build your own navigation buttons using standard controls.

I was afraid of that. Thanks...I will work it.

Thanks,

FYI. If you spend the time to roll your own navigation buttons, you can achieve all the functionality of the standard controls. The trick is to make that set of controls a subform, so then you do not have to reinvent it for every form, just reuse the subform and link it. Here is an example. I have not tried this version, but looks good.

Stephen Lebans has a demo database called A2KRecordNavigationButtons, on his site, that shows how to do this; it even emulates the 'auto-repeat' property of the native Navigation Bar:
