I'm trying to make a spread sheet that is basically just a table of information about libraries that my research lab uses in our software. One of the fields is "version" and some of the versions have two decimal places in them (ie. 1.3.2). Every time I try to enter one of these versions, though, OpenOffice re-formats the number to be a date (ie. 01/03/02). Is there a way to turn this feature off so that the program won't be so "helpful" in recognizing dates.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
