Turn Off Auto Linking in CR 9

I have a user with CR 9 and there is no key in the registry that matches the DoAutoSmartLinking.

I know the knowledge base reference CR10 but am hoping someone knows another way to turn off Auto Linking in CR 9.

In v9 the key is called DoSmartLinkingByKey.
