We are running an version of Sage Accounts that is semi-windows.

Users move around the menus in Sage with the cursor keys, each time they press a key it does a DOS Beep. Is there any way to switch this annoying beep off ?

PaulMThomas,
Make sure the application has been published out with no audio. You can also turn off audio in the CCC for each server.

Or you can run this kix script on the citrix servers that the end-user is logging into.

WRITEVALUE("HKU\$UserSID\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default\.Default\.Current", "", "", "REG_SZ")
WRITEVALUE

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I have since found out that the problem is caused by a bug in Windows 2003 SP1, a hotfix has been released by Microsoft to resolve the problem of audio mapping for the beep service in Terminal Services (See KB Article 901115).

You can set the Value of HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Beep\Start to 4 and restart. That will disable the beep.
