Hi guys,
I have what should be a simple problem but it's just not working. I want to install a true type font called "Celtic Gaeilge Regular" (*.tff). I have unzipped and placed it in the "Winnt/fonts" folder but no go.
I'd appreciate any help you can offer me.

thanks

Simply placing the font in this folder does not install it. You have to access the Fonts applet from Control Panel. From the File menu choose Install New Font. Choose the folder where the font is installed, select the font, and choose Install.

Hi Greg,
Thanks, but sorry to be a dumbass but where do I find this font applet. If I go to control panel/fonts I cant find this option to install new font.
I'm missing something! (brains?)

Control Panel --> Fonts.

From the File menu, choose Install New Font.

Hi again Greg,
unfortunatly that option is just not there under file menu. I can delete fonts but not install them.
Thanks for your help anyway.

You will need to change the permissions on the fonts folder.

Drop to command prompt (start/run/cmd)
then attrib +s c:\winnt\fonts or where ever your path is.

This applies the system attribute back to the fonts folder.

Have phun!
