Hi all,

Could anyone provide some white papers about tunning Opentext server.

Specially the database, we are having serious performance problems that we need to solved ASAP.

Any info would be appreciated.

Orlando,
You've not said which DB / version you have, so I can't be specific, but there are several docs in that are DB Specific.

If you can provide more details on your issue we may be able to help identify / fix the cause ?

Hi,

This is some of information of the System report on our productive environment:

System Info:
Version: 9.7.1
Build Number: 1529
Platform: Windows

Current Database Info:
Database Type: MSSQL
Livelink DB Version: 6,0,9

Database Server Info:
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 - 10.0.2531

We have really long waitng time on the workspace navigation and general bad performance.

What would it be the most common tunning activities for open text?

Regards,

Orlando Covault

Do you have a DBA ? if so, have they looked at this ? are you sure that the issue is a DB issue and not partially a Server issue as well ? have you spoken to OT support ?

Hi,

I coordinating with my DBA some tunning activities, but they are asking me about the parametars that they should set.

I thought that there was some documentation that I could bring them.

I am also contacting OT support but so far no concrete answer.

Also if there is some documentation about tunning for the Web Application server would be appreciated.

Orlando Covault

We are also planning to migrate the database to a robust server.

Is there a documentation for this migration?

Orlando Covault

The same link contains some WebTuning recommendations for various web servers as well as some basic DB activities.

With a new DB server, you just repoint the Livelink DB Connection via the Admin pages to the new DB and it will pick up and work in general.

You have still not given us a detailed picture of the issue you are facing as this would help us troubleshoot it for you.

Hi,

I am reading the Web Server Configuration and High Performance.

I'll let you know if there is a better performance after this activities.

About the database migration.

What would happend to all documents already in open text, all the metadata?

I don't need to migrated all the database content?

Regards,

Orlando Covault

Does this case of study may apply to my migration scenario, even though the MS SQL version is 2008 for both enviroments.

Any help would be apprciatted.
