Whenever I try to HotSync one of the Palms, I get an error saying
"The 'Network' option is not checked in the HotSync Manager menu. If you want to preform a HotSync operation via the network, cancel this dialgo and click the 'Network' option.

Otherwise, click OK."

I don't want to preform a network sync, so I click OK.

When I click OK, I get asked for the Palm's password. No one remembers setting up a password, and you are never asked for a password when using the Palm.

Does anyone know how to find out the Palms password, as well as how to stop asking about the Network Sync?

(I'd like to point out that two other Palms work fine, and we encountered the error when syncing the Palm to two different computers)

generally the password is coming from a program needing a custom conduit to work.. such as MobileForm from Credible Wireless.

The network option comes up because your Palm believes you have a home PC, you will need to goto the PC which is your Palm's "home" and remove the checkmark in Hotsync next to it's identifier.

Okay, so now I've got it to recognise the computer and get rid the "Network" dialog.

But it's still asking for the password. I've un-checked all the conduits except for SmartList, which is the program that I need.

Any suggestions?

Generally the password is 0000.

If that does not work, here is a response I found on the web, taken from pdaphonehome.com. Hope this helps

*** READ THIS FIRST ***

I take no responsiblity for corupting data on your
palm or desktop computer. This process may cause data corruption. Syncing
to multiple computers can have disatsterous results (ie. deleted records,
duplication of records). Be warned.

Here is how to get rid of that password (and any records marked private):
On the Palm, tap on the security icon from the main menu. Tap on the
password field. On the bottom of the box that pops up, there is a lost
password button - tap it. You will now be warned about your private
records.

You should now be able to hotsync with your old computer.

My suggestion - when it asks for your username, create a new one. Then
use the palm desktop to move any records you want to add to your palm from
your old username to the new one. You will then need to hotsync again to
get everything to the palm. Doing this will help aleviate the data
corruption problems.

Thank you so much, LloydSev. That did the trick. I did a look around, and nothing seems to be lost either. Thanks!
