How do I check the status of a TTY. The port I normally use to do my programming is not responding and I dont really like using TTY0. So what overlay do I use to check the status, disbale, enable etc the tty port.

All the answers are in ld 37. All you have to do to find simple simple simple anwers to questions like these is get the ntp's as computer files than do a search of the file. A 3 year old should be able to search an ntp for tty. This isn't directed to any one in particular it's directed to everyone who doesn't at least try to help themselves.

some users don't have all the doc's. in ld 37 you can also test a tty with the tty x command. it will send a test string to the tty. stat tty, enl tty x dis tty x, are the most used commands

I dont always have access to the NTPs as they are stored on our network. I do though have access to the Internet. At times people do ask simple questions, but in the same vain we do try and contribute. As the saying goes. Everything is simple if you already know the answer.

I have to agree with Nortellian here.As I read these posts each day I am in amazement that People are put in these positions to administor and maintain PBX systems and are not given ANY documentation ie:NTP's.Does anyone know how much it costs to buy the NTP's on CD? Just about every basic computer sold today comes with a CD burner. Not that I would ever consider breaking any copywriting laws....If resonably priced I would spend my own $ to buy the NTP's just to make my job easier and when you learn how to look things up it makes your troubleshooting so much easier.
