I have an Opt 11, Rls 5.5. Port ) was on SEB, and you could dial in, put in SEB password, but could go no further. Port 0 also does not work direct connect to laptop. I connected port 1 to SEB, and it worked for awhile, now that doesn't work either. Is NTAK02 the right part number for the paddle board on the SSC card?

i dont believe there is a paddle board on the SSC card for the TTYs. If you can still log in go to LD 37 and type STAT TTY and see if any are disabled. If you can't log in any TTYs you may need to poke it in the eye

Thanks,

stupid question but you got the correct baud settings, are you getting any repsone from the ttp. If ok check what bhassell2000 but if you cannot connect you will have a problem stating the tty ports, so poke it in the eye :)

Also when you connect using a Laptop are you using a Null Modem as TTY 0 on an SSC card is DCE no DTE.

Yes, all baud rates are correct. None of the TTY ports are disabled.

The older SEB's are 1200 or 2400 baud. The baud rate on the SSC card has to match the baud rate of the modem. You may also need to force the modem calling the SEB to that baud rate in Procomm or your terminal emulator of choice.

If you cannot connect directly from your laptop's serial port to TTY 0 - then there's a problem. Make sure you're using the right adapters (i.e., null modem, etc...), make sure your baud rate is right, make sure you're using the right parity settings, etc... (N-8-1 or E-7-1)... etc...

Make sure TTY 0 is enabled in LD 37 and set to maintenance.

I cannot access port 0 directly to my laptop. As of about 2 weeks ago, I could access the PBX through port 1, so I connected that to the SEB for remote access. Now, 0 and 1 do not work. All TTY ports are enabled and all baud rates are correct. I thought maybe it was the octopus cable, so I replaced that with the same results.

Make sure you're using a null modem adapter (or cable) between the laptop's serial port and the TTY port cable coming out of the SSC.

Don't use both a null modem adapter and cable - you just need one or the other.

Are you at least able to get in Port 2? Do you have a maintenance set set up (a digital phone with display with CLS MTA)? If so - try to enable your TTY ports that way. Otherwise, without any working TTY ports, getting into the switch is gonna be problematic.
