Has anybody configured this and got it going.

The only reference I can find is to
Install TTS software - DONE
Install TTS Licence - DONE
Install VM Pro Licence - DONE
Add a + infront of the email address under User/Voicemail - DONE eg +mike@mike.com
The TTS is working with the speak text action and IVR and the bookshop demo no problems

I have assigned rights from the Account that the VM Pro Service is starting with to the mail box that I configured with the email address on the exchange. Basically so VM has rights to access the exchange account specified under USER/VOICEMAIL

I can little to no reference to setting this up in Jobaids or the VM Pro V2 manual.

Sorry to be a pain, but has no-body configured this ???

I have NOT configured this, but at this point, I would assume that you could listen to your new voice mail messages and new e-mail messages, as the mailboxes (IP Office VM Pro & Exchange MB) are basically merged. Does it not work?

Chase Avaya for the absolutely latest VMPro [so I can't remeber of my head]. SMTP email support was added in 2.0, but they dropped a small brick by not including a selector to switch between either MAPI or SMTP. There has been a later release that include the switch on the Voicemail Pro Preferences | General | MAPI form.

SMTP is easier to setup as its purely outgoing email. It works for Voicemail Email but not for anything more sophisticated and that includes email reading.

You need MAPI for the email reading and a version of VMPro 2.0 where you can tick the MAPI box to tell it to use MAPI and not SMTP.

Mr. IPO I’m in the same position as you, TTS appears to be far to simple.

I am expecting to be able to read the emails that come into the account with the +xxxx@xxx.co.xx it don't work for me.

Don't forget to us Intuity mode however I still cannot get it to work I even ordered the Avaya speech prompts

Have you asked FSG?

[cheers]

If you've got Voicemail Email using MAPI working, then this (apart from installing the TTS) appears to be the extra few yards necessary for one MAPI client (ie. the one being used by the Voicemail Pro) to read the emails in another users MAPI client.

Either, within Exchange Server, for the Voicemail Pro MAPI account enable "Access to all user accounts".

Alternatively, within the users Outlook, select Tools | Options | Delegates and add the Voicemail Pro MAPI account as a delegate who can access the users account.

Can anyone tell me how hard it is to setup TTS and how hard it is to setup VoiceMail Pro with Exchange?

Thanks
Neil

my understanding from talking with the Avaya eng is TTS only works in intuity mode and will not work in IP office mode

Hi,

Me was told that this TTS and e-mail only will work in the new software V2.1 release, and that in V2.0 it works with data base.
They also told me when using TTS (2.1) and e-mail you also need IMS to make it work! Don’t now of it is thru but maybe same one can fill this in and correct me if I’m wrong.

I don't know for sure either, but I was under the definate impression you need the IMS licence. One thing I think we can all agree on is this is one of the most poorly documented features on the IPO. I would be surprised if it has to be R2.1 though...

I have all the licences I need to try this in my lab (which I'm dying to do) I just need to get my hands on a copy of Exchange 2000. Once I get exchange I'll try it out and post what I find.

Peter

TTS was implemented in 2.0 - but for trial only so is not actualy supported by Avaya.

If I ever see any documents on this feature I may eventualy be able to help :-(

Ref. to MrIPO's note at the beginning of the thread.

Text to speech works on version 2.0 without IMS.

Note you will need to change you exchange settings as per MrIPO's thread.

All 2.1 will do is add a nice little tick box for those who cannot spell +

I have got this now working in Version 2 and Version 2.1
Its a bit tricky but all all comes down to the Account you want to have the Vm to Email TTS have rights assigned with the VM pro Service Log in. Also you MUST configure the Delagate option in the outlook client.

Its good, but there should a option to Skip ahead as it reads everything in the email, and the headers can be ver confusing when it plays back if you were to access it remotly.

I would think this would get better as newer version come out

Further question on TTS:

When setting up the delegate option in the outlook client: For permissions, should I allow the VMPro account the ability to be an "author" of the client's inbox?
