Is there a way to TTI a phone in like a definity rather than having to do so much work in a nortel system. i was just wondering. I know that the lines are hard wired to the phone but just thought I as and see if anyone might of come up with some way of doing it.

What TTI does is it brings a phone back online rather then having to move the phone to a lingo non used TN then moving to where it has to go. What TTI does is you dial an access code followed by the extension and then it locks that phone onto that TN or port.

Also I was wondering if there was a way to not having to dial the main number to get into voicemail. Where you can program it so that you can be at any phone and dial into the voicemail then punch in your voicemail box followed by your passcode rather then having to be at your phone or having to dial a setup did number as if you were outside just to get to your voicemail. So basiclly is there a way around it.

So many question so little time.....

There is a feature called Auto-Set-Relocation
1. lift handset
2. Enter relocation code (spree plus 81 or flexible feature code)
3. Enter security code
4. a two-second tone burst confirms that the telephone is relocated
5. Unplug phone and install in new location (new location must be wired to a spare digital port)
6. Confirmation Buzz through phone loud speaker indicates the phone is in service

For voice mail - you should be able to dial the same ext that your phones are forwarded/hunted to - FDN xxxx or Hunt xxxx

TTI-Oh yea, how would you go about setting that up for the feature called auto-set-relocation. I just feel that that is so much easier just by TTI the phone out and then take it to another port and TTI it back online again. I would really like to know how to do that because it will definately make my life easier if that is possible.

Voicemail-Ok but say that you were going around troubleshooting problems and you did not forward your DN to any phone. What I want to do is that I can go to any phone without having to forward my extension to it and I can just dial the Voicemail and it will prompt me for an extension then my passcode and be able to access my voicemail without having to forward it. I use to work for a place that the when dialing the voicemail it prompts you for you mailbox number so that way you can access your mailbox from any internal phone at any time. Just curious that just seems so more simpble and easy for people who are always constantly moving around.

As reusser was saying. Just dial the first extension(TN) of your voicemail system or the hunt group number the extensions(TN'S) are in for your voicemail. This will get you what you want.
Good Luck!!

1/ Use ARS with great caution as it can cause problems - likes sets stuck in s/w - you need to INI the switch to get them back. Why don't you use the MOV command in LD 10/11 - just be careful with system phones & don't use on ACD sets.

2/ Not sure if Aria nail works the same as MMail, but it sounds like you have Auto login enabled on the mail boxes - which means you have to be at a set to access the mailbox, without dialling a bunch of codes. If you turn auto login off, mail will ask you for the mailbox number & password.

But I dont think reusser is talking about ARS is he. ARS has to do with adding and removing new area code I thought unless there is another meaning in Nortel as to ARS and it means another thing also.

I guess I will have to check into the Arial Octel to see if I see something that has to do with autologin.

ARS - Auto set relocation

Use this (with cation) if you are moving phone from one location to another. Maybe this is not what you are talking about.

See if this more closely fitts your needs

DID setup on a phantom which is call default call forwarded to voice mail.
When the user is on site - they sit at any available phone and use remote call forward to send there DID calls to the set they are sitting at. When they leave for the day they remove the remote forward and calls again go directly to voice mail.

Is this a better fit? Or is TTI a auto set relocaion type feature?
