I purchased a font, a new, good, TT font for use in ADT2004. I installed it, it works in other applications, and it EVEN works in AutoCAD in one small respect-- I can view the font (as it SHOULD appear) in the mtext edit dialog. Once I click OK, though, the font reverts to the lame default font that appears when AutoCAD is missing the chosen font. What gives? Any suggestions?
thanks!

Just a check, is it in a location that AutoCAD can find it in? From the options menu...

I dunno...throw me a bone.
I THOUGHT AutoCAD can find it, as I have successfully (and easily) installed fonts previously with no complications. Should I do more to tell my AutoCAD what to look for?

Hi zobi,

It seems to me, and I can't remember all the details, but AutoCAD has some difficulty with a system setting when you configure your display to smooth font edges. I can't remember all the rules on this one, it seems some people had trouble yet others didn't, but check and see if you have setting and see if that helps. It's under the display options, under the "Effects" tab - in Windows NOT AutoCAD.

Sorry if that's no help.
Todd

thanks, both last 2 postings, but the problem isn't that the TT font is unavailable in autocad, its that it appears to be available in the Text Style dialog box, and can be chosen as such, but will not APPEAR correctly; the shown font reverts to the default .shx as though my font were unavailable. But it patently IS available, and even appears correctly in the text editing box! I am baffled.
