TSM & LTO2 Drives???

Directly quoted & stated from IBM LTO2 Drive functionality has been added in TSM 5.1.6.1 and later versions..

I have heard rumors that some have gotten lower versions of TSM to work with LTO2 drives, is this true?? and how so???

You have heard wrong. I was only able to start using my LTO2 drives after upgrading from 5.1.6.1 to 5.1.7.3.

Really wow thats strange, I am glad that I have posted this..... I have seen many clients have problems with LTO2's until they upgrade their level of TSM to 5.1.6.1 , I wonder what was the problem in your case that you could not use them until you upgraded to 5.1.7.3......

Did you work with IBM on that to get it working??? Did they give any explanation as to why?
