I installed the License and activated. Installed the
CAL's but was still not getting licenses. I hacked the
registry per KB 279561 (Override license server
discovery...) and now the License server is issueing
temporary licenses. Why is it issuing temp's when I have
non-temporary licenses availabe? What can I do to remidy?

A couple of obvious questions, I am sure you already did this, but thought I would ask just in case.
1. You activated through Microsoft, correct?
2. Your license server is on your Domain Controller and not your Term server..right?
3. Do you have W2K desktop clients coming in to the TS?
4. All W2K clients have a built in TS CAL within itself.
5. Are your CAL's to the server on a per seat basis?
Again you probably already did this, but thought I would ask....-g-

On Server 03 Win2k Cals are NOT built in. For each user that you want to log into a TS session you need to purchase a device cal or per seat cal no matter what the OS is. If you just activate your server and do not purchase the additional TS cals you will get the Temp licenes until I believe 90 to 120 days is up.
