Hi I have set up some remote apps but need to stop people accessing the Remote desktop. I am running Server 2008 SP2 in 64bit mode but cant see anything int eh configuration.

I also see that suggested is running a program in TS profile to log the user off again. Also someone suggested changing the port but both ways are not really a rock solid solution in my opinion.,

Does anyone know a way to do this?

Thanks

What you are asking is a little unclear. It sounds like you are saying that you built a terminal server that you don't want people to use? Or is it that you only want them to be able to use it via RemoteApp and not logging in directly using the MSTSC client?

If it's the latter, then you'll probably run into issues as RemoteApp actually uses terminal sessions. Changing the port would probably work well, assuming that you can specify the connecting port on the RemoteApp server. Most people wouldn't think/know to change the port that they use to connect to the terminal server. It's not iron-clad, but it would be a good start.

Kmcferrin,

Thanks for you reply. Sorry for the confusion, it was late. Yes I know RemoteApps use RDP but I was hoping I could turn off full access to the desktop but still use RemoteApps.

I have basically no requirement to allow people to a full desktop and it's also a security risk so want to avoid if possible...

Thanks for all your help,

James
