when double clicking my RDP icon on my desktop I would bet the IP Address to my server. From there I'd get a log on screen and away I'd go.

Now, when I doubleclick that icon I get both the IP address and my user name. when I type in the password the TS session fails. Howvever, if I remove the logon account and just use the IP address, everythign works fine.

How can I configure this new RDP to JUST have the IP address so I dont have to constantly be removing my account name inorder to get a successful login.

If this is a "NEW" way of logging on, then what am I missing to make it work?

thank you,

Zam

correction: inorder for the TS connection to work I have to remove the IP address from the Logon Screen.... where before all that I had to do was to put in my username and password. Actually, I think my Username was already there and all I needed to do was insert my password.

Are you aware that you can create multiple RDP icons/shortcuts with different settings?

Right-click on your RDP shortcut and choose "edit". From there you can clear out any fields that you don't want populated and you can populate any fields that you want filled in, "Computer", "User name:" etc.

After that, click on "save as" and save your shortcut. You can have as many RDP shortcut icons as you want.

okay, I'll try that, Dublin. Thank you for your help.
