Hi all,
I new to the tech business and recently had a client who wanted to add a Linksys BEFSR41 Ver 2 router to his existing LAN which is basically a four computer TCP/IP Ethernet setup running Windows 98/Windows networking. He has a cable modem and one PC with two Ethernet Adapters (one is directly connected to cable modem the other to his network hub). Using this configuration, he is able to VPN from home to this computer at work using PCAnywhere TCP/IP mode.
I am about to connect the Linksys Router to the cable modem and have more than one PC access the Internet but I cannot VPN from his home PC.
I have left the IP address of the router at its default setting of 192.168.1.1 and checked the Advanced->filter tab (like Linksys advised)to ensure that IPsec passthrough and/or PPTP passthough are enabled.
Any ideas? Would it be easier if I just got another Router that was more "VPN"-friendly?
