I have a Avaya 5610SW IP phone which I am trying to connect to a remote Windows 2003 server via a PPTP VPN. It only gives me three connection options on the phone:

-Avaya Security Gateway
-Cisco Xauth with PSK
-Juniper Xauth with PSK

None of those really sound like what I need. Can you help? I can already VPN using a laptop, so I know that part works.

You need an IPSEC VPN.
PPTP won't work.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

To be more precise : IPSec VPN with user config, a lot of the available VPN servers can't do that.

Indeed, to summarise.... Avaya should be more flexible in the VPN connections they support it currently sucks :)
