I have an MICS on 6.1 software. Their provider is Nuvox/Windstream. The customer is requiring a call to be answered and if need be, transferred back outside the system without tieing up 2 lines and having a volume drop on the call. I know a real C.O. can do a link and then dial a second number. When the 3rd party answers the 2nd party can link to join all 3 callers and then drop out of the call and free up the line. Right now, I get no link response from Windstream. They are saying I need to set up B2 on the system. Sounds like a cop out on their part to me. I took this site over from another company and came in the middle of this. Any help would be greatly noted. P.S. I read the thread from 2005 and don't think it pertains in this case.

Hard to read between all your lines to see what the issue is but is it just the link that does not work or you dont know how to use the feature??.
F71 = Link on Norstar, dial number, link, hang up.

Ask your carrier if they support off site transfer.

I dont know what Winsdstream is.....are we talking POT lines or PRI?.

This is a PRI. The carrier used to be called NUVOX. I know how to program and use the link feature. the problem is, that it won't work on this PRI because it won't even show "link at C.O." prompt under line programming like you would on copper.

Volume drop should not be an issue with a PRI/T1

6 months until ski season starts...sadly i must resign myself to the warmer weather"this will include a normal 8-5 work day, 5 days a week"

I belive it's called "2 B-channel Transfer" (TBCT) on a PRI and so far I have not heard of anyone getting it to work on BCM or Norstar.

NOT SUPPORTED ON A EITHER

Finally figured out what NUVOX was telling customer. Call one comes in. They need to talk to someone not in the office, You press transfer key, dial 9 plus number, plus join and call is transferred off site. Nuvox calls this TBCT.

Yes but you have 2 trunks tied up

From what I have read it is a function of the CO but the PBX has to tell the CO what to do with the call.

When working properly using this function you make a second call on a channel of the PRI and when the call is connected to the outside number the CO release both channels of the PRI.

Ironhorse is correct and the Norstar does not do that, it will tie the 2 trunks together
