I posted the below message on Friday. I am now trying to enhance performance by forcing the
links between FE and BE to remain open but am unsure how
to do it. Can anybody give me a step by step process to do
it?
I am taking earlier advise and looking to get a SQL Server backend but that will take a bit of time so I need a short term workaround!

Thanks a gain,

Tulip

Hi,I have just split my Access 2000 DB using the wizard
and copied the frontend onto each users local folder (14
users). I am now finding though that opening up the tables
and queries from the local copy can be quite slow (15-20
seconds sometimes. Does anybody have any suggestions
please?
I had already tested the splitting myself and had had no
delays but now, when more people are using it, it is a
problem.

Thanks in advance,

I've once had a simular problem to, I have a split DB which of which is used by about 8 users, when just one user was using it it was fine but as soon as more than one person logged in it becan really slow, I was using:

me.refresh

to refresh links alot in the VB code I found that by removing these speeded up the database loads...

Don't know if this will help you or not but i thought i would mention it.

If you are using ADO -SWITCH to DAO.
